Dr. Sarah Hyams obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Dentistry in 2004. Dentistry is a profession she enjoys and is passionate about. Prior to these studies, she earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in microbiology and immunology at McGill University, where she developed her knowledge of infectious diseases. She also completed a Master of Science in Dental Sciences (M.Sc.) at McGill University, during which she had the privilege of conducting research on the trigeminal nerve, under the supervision of Dr. Jim Lund, the former dean of McGill University’s Faculty of Dentistry.

Upon graduating from dental school, she completed a multidisciplinary dental residency certificate in the United States (G.P.R.). During this post-graduate program, she received more training in different aspects of dental care with immunocompromised patients and marginalized populations, which allowed her to perfect her medical knowledge. Besides passing the National Dental Examining Board of Canada examination, Dr. Hyams successfully completed the American Dental Association’s National Board Examinations, Part I and Part II, and the North East Regional Dental Board (N.E.R.B.) exam. 

She is a devoted lifelong learner and enjoys taking continuing education courses at conferences across Canada and the United States. This allows her to explore different techniques and has exposed her to varied perspectives on the practice of dentistry. She is a member of several dental organizations, including the Academy of General Dentistry (A.G.D.), the American Dental Association (A.D.A.), the Association des chirurgiens dentistes du Québec (A.C.D.Q., association of dental surgeons), and the Ordre des dentistes du Québec (O.D.Q., order of dentists). 

Elected by her peers, Dr. Hyams has been the A.G.D. Regional Director for Eastern Canada from 2018 to 2022. The Academy of General Dentistry is one of the largest non-profit dentistry organizations in North America. As the Regional Director, she was responsible for helping to build membership as well as for recruiting speakers to provide high-quality continuing education to her colleagues in Ontario, Quebec and the Atlantic provinces.

Dr. Hyams receives a great deal of gratification from treating patients of all ages and overseeing all aspects of their dental care. She looks forward to the new challenges each patient brings, as each has their own unique story. She believes in providing comprehensive care, in a comfortable environment, tailored to fit the lives and budgets of her patients.

After receiving his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Montreal in 2005, Dr. Benoit Charrette spent eight years working as a dentist in the Canadian Armed Forces. He has practiced in several dental clinics on the South Shore starting in July 2013 and joined the Lacolle Dental Clinic team in August 2015. He performs periodontal surgical treatments and complex tooth extractions, including impacted wisdom tooth removal.

Calm and attentive, Dr. Charrette prioritizes his patients’ comfort and wellbeing during treatments. Thanks to his professional experience, great skill and compassion, he is much appreciated by all his patients.

Dr. Pierre-Olivier Bégin has given his patients quality dental care since obtaining his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Université de Montréal in 2005.

As a general dentist who mostly provides services in implantology and oral surgery, he is appreciated for his attentiveness and empathy. He frequently takes continuing education courses to keep up with the latest advancements in the field of dentistry.

In addition to his work in private practice, his adventurous spirit led him to provide his services in the northern regions of Québec and Canada. He has travelled extensively, to Asia, Africa, Europe and South America, to practice his passions, which include skiing, mountaineering, scuba diving and kite surfing.

He has three young children and was born in Laval.
